Fabric child's bag

Fun bag for a special girl

Just last Friday we returned home from a seven week holiday in America and Canada, I delighted in the fabric stores.
Although I didn't buy a lot, a few fat quarters found their way into my bag and home to New Zealand with me.
I had pined this lunch bag tutorial about a year ago from Ayumi at    Pink Penguin
Such a clear well written tutorial to make this wee bag, thank you Ayumi.

I used my fat quarters from  Joann fabric and craft store's, I wanted to make it fun so a little house was created.

I machined the leaves and stalks, just straight stitch then added the flowers from trim I had bought from M & J trimmings  NY.

The white lace is supposed to be a little picket fence, I should have sewn it up slightly higher as it ended right on the fold line.

I modified the original pattern slightly, making the base smaller and adding a cardboard bottom to it.  The fat quarters I used all worked well together, see it's all lined ready to go.

Just a small project, but I'm pleased with how its turned out. I will save it for my Grand Daughters birthday, I'm sure a few treasures will be carried with joy.

Soft toys Rabbit and Kitten dolls.

Sweet rabbit and kitten soft dolls

The weather here in this part of the world has been wet cold and miserable, so I just tuck up in the sewing room, heater and music on.
I have actually sold some of my rabbits which is pretty cool as they were threatening to take over.

I'm letting you into my sewing room, as you can see I'm none too tidy but oh so creative, and I have fun.

The little kitten face ready to go

The dolls are ready for dressing.

I found this beautiful cotton fabric in our local craft store, note the french words.

Rabbits

These Rabbits are made using sweet pink and blue checks with contrasting floral for the dresses.

I try and have the hand sewing and stuffing ready to do when I sit down in the evenings.

Little blue and white Rabbit dolls made from French fabric.

I do get attached to them, such a lot of work to get them just right.

Little projects

Little softy Lamb.

I have made this little soft toy as a gift for an overseas friend, as sheep out number people here in New Zealand it seemed appropriate.

If you look you can see I have used fabric with sheep on, I thought it so cute.

Embroidery

Embroidery projects.

Needle cases.

Silk embroidered trinket box

Silk on silk trinket box.

This little box is my latest project, silk ribbon embroidery on a cream silk fabric box, all handmade.

I so enjoyed the embroidery part of this project but making up the box was very fiddly.

Linen Rabbit softies.

My latest Rabbits.

Just having fun making these, after much re cutting of my pattern I am at last pleased with the results.
I have started using the plastic safety eyes, I get a more consistent result with the faces.

I bought this lovely pure Linen fabric from my local fabric store and mixed and matched.

See the detail piping on their little romper shorts.

This batch for my Granddaughters, I have used left over fabric from dresses I have made for them.
